MidAtlantic provided full time on-site Resident Engineer Dive Services during the course of construction for the timber pile rehabilitation of the approaches of the Historic Glimmer Glass Bridge. MidAtlantic was responsible to perform dive inspections to review contractor progress. MidAtlantic generated weekly reports back to the engineer of record and State DOT regarding change in conditions. MidAtlantic tracked material quantities and insured that the repairs were installed
in strict conformance with the design drawings. Prior to construction, MidAtlantic performed a detailed design level inspection. MidAtlantic installed grade nails on all the piles to establish existing mudline and allow for quality assurance during construction that the repair was installed a minimum of two feet below grade.
Diving activities were performed from the marine contractors barge. All diving was performed in accordance with OSHA site safety standards.
