With ecommerce growth and new industrial/commercial facility prices soaring, our New York City and Philadelphia clients are looking for affordable alternatives. MidAtlantic had the opportunity to support our client’s purchase of the former Sunbury Textile Mills in the City of Sunbury, Pennsylvania. The former Sunbury Textile Mill operated for over 125 years before recently closing their doors during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in the loss of over 100 jobs. We completed a Phase I ESA in accordance with ASTM Standard E 1527-13, Standard Practice for Environmental Site Assessments and 40 CFR Part 312, Innocent Landowners, Standards for Conducting All Appropriate Inquiries (the All Appropriate Inquiries [AAI] Rule) at the property. The project gave MidAtlantic the opportunity to inspect a piece of United States manufacturing history, and the sale will lead to the return of jobs and industry to the City of Sunbury.

Our Waterfront Services team has been hard at work in Monmouth County, NJ, installing new armor stone around the Romer Shoal Lighthouse. This historic landmark which has been lighting the entrance to New York Harbor since 1898, has suffered significantly damage in recent years due to storms in the area. This repair effort to storm proof the lighthouse is part one of a multi-phase project in which MidAtlantic will be responsible for the engineering design and construction oversight.
